A New Journey in Weightloss

I'm a writer by trade and by desire. My butt-in-chair time is my bread and butter. The longer I'm in a chair, the more I write, but it also means that I've put on weight.

I have never been skinny. I've been healthy. At my lowest, I was a size 11 (not bad when you consider I'm 5'7). When I'm between size 12-14, I consider that a healthy weight and look. I'm not looking to kill myself to be a sample size and am a strong believer that women were meant to have curves, not bony angles.

That being said, I've created this blog--the purpose of which is to chronicle my journey--to motivate and inspire me to lose the 100 pounds that I've put on.

What made me decide to start?

I've spent so much time in imaginary worlds crafting characters and plots, that I've neglected myself. I don't feel good, I don't like the way I look, and I have a beautiful dress in the closet that I can't wear (I loved that dress). Plus I know that carrying around all this extra weight is not healthy.

What are my goals?

1. Lower my chance of obesity related illnesses (diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc.)

2. Feel better about the way I look (this is going to include changing the way I think).

3. Lose the weight (this one is obvious).

4. Fit into my beautiful dress

How am I going to accomplish this?

The old fashioned way: Diet and Exercise. No short-cuts here.

As for how this blog is going to be structured, here it goes:

  • I will post something every day including (but not limited to): Meals eaten, interesting recipes, musings, struggles, etc.
  • Once a week I will weigh-in and post it along with measurements (thighs, bust, waist, hips, and arms).
  • If I cheat, I will be completely honest about noting it.
I hope you will come along with me on this journey and maybe start one of your own if you'd like. No pressure.

Starting Measurements:

Weight: 246.3 lbs (112 kg)
Bust: 46 inches (117cm)
Waist: 46 inches (117cm)
Hips: 50 inches (127cm)
Thighs: 29. 5 inches (75cm)
Upper Arms: 15 inches (38 cm)
